promising young puppy from our latest litter, he is stunning young
boy with an outgoing cheeky nature !! Freddie is
co-owned with Rahkantra GSD's. We look forward to watching
this young man develop and grow.

30 May 2011 - Today
the decision was made to step down from the Committee of the Swedish
Vallhund Club of New Zealand. While handing the reins to other
members I am however remaining a member of the club. As a founding
member I have enjoyed working towards lauching the club, gaining
incorporation, attending events and meeting some loving people who own
our fantastic breed. I am look foward to watching to the club progress
in the spirit orginally intended.
The Aim of the Swedish Vallhund Club: To facilitate good will and cohesion between Swedish
Vallhund Breeders, Owners and Enthusiasts within Aotearoa.

We are delighted
to announce.....
Vanaheim Strawberry Fields took Junior
of Group at the South Otago Kennel Club Championship Show this
weekend, doing it in style by also becoming a New Zealand
Champion on the same day. Flare is our
lovely homebred girl who is carrying on the tradition from her Multi
Class in Group Winning parents and Gr Ch BIS & Multi Class in Show
winning Grandparents.
Not to be out done our gorgeous girl Vanaheim Priates Codex took Baby Puppy of Group Both
days.
We had a wonderful weekend and
are extremely proud of our girls

warming stories for the general public, Judges and Breed
Enthusiast.

We are delighted that out beautiful NZ CH & Multi Class in
Group Winner Valkrista Alatna was chosen to represent Swedish
Vallhunds in NZ on the SV Breed Feature Cover March 2011. The
Swedish Vallhund Breed was last featured by the New Zealand Kennel Club
Magazine in the year 2000, what a wonderful way to break the drought.
Ash to date holds the breed record for NZ's most successful
Winning Swedish Vallhund Bitch.
We are very proud of lovely
girl and want to thank all the Judges who have recognised her outstanding
quality and breed type.

Meet our lovely new girl Vanaheim Pirates Codex (Phoenix). Phoenix is a quality girl who introduces a new blend of
Swedish and Finnish bloodlines into our breeding programme. She has a
wonderful correct harsh coat, lovely head and facial expression with
gorgeous dark eyes, a terrific length of neck and a great front. Full of
mischief with a great out going temperament we look forward to introducing her
to the show ring in 2011.

and the late Rose Madsen of Valkrista Swedish Vallhunds for making this
special litter possible.
Tommy was imported by Mrs Rose
Madsen of Valkrista from Candace Kennels in the UK, he is a lovely boy
who carries an all Swedish/Finnish Pedigree that is sort after in the
world today. Tommy has introduced some wonderful
qualities to our breeding programme as well as his delightful personality
!! We look foward to showing his delightful daughter and working with
these lines into the future.


Due to the Christchurch Earthquake
affecting family we have not been able to attend recent shows.

& 20th February 2011 - Kindle,
Flare and myself attended the Waikouaiti Kennel Association Championship
Show held in Dunedin today, Kindle took BOB on the Saturday and then they
swapped around for the Sunday. Flare got some lovely judges comments on
the day regarding her out standing breed type and movement.

12 & 13 Feburary 2011 - Today was just short trip up the road to the
Gore & Districts Kennel Association Championship Show. Flare
was joined by NZ CH Murivall Antares for the days trip and both showed very
well in once again very cold wet conditions. Flare was reserve of breed both
days.

4 & 5 December 2010 - We headed away early to attend the
Southern Ladies Kennel Association Championship Shows in Dunedin, the weather
was rather cold and windy for December however Flare showed like a
trooper and took the BOB both days.

Flare 6 Months
12 & 13 November 2010 - I travelled to Christchurch with a
friend of mine to attend the Canterbury Kennel Association Championship
Shows & the Canterbury Working Dog Show. It was a great opportunity
to catch up with friends and family who had experienced the first
earthquake, share stories and enjoy the sunny weather.
Flare did well over all three days and on two of the three
took BOB over older competition.

6 & 7 November 2010 - Today we travelled to Invercargill to attend the Southland
Kennel Clubs 75th Jubilee Championship Shows. This auspicious occasion
was marked with an auction to raise funds to replace the roof of the
indoor venue, we had a wonderful day and raised a healthy sum in
the process.

4 & 5 September 2010 - We attended the NZKC Forrester Park Benefit 3 Ring Shows
which were being held over this weekend, it was loads of fun
and we enjoyed catching up with some wonderful old friends.
Flare showed like she has been doing it all her life and was a much admired
wee girl.

August 2010- It is with sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Rose Madsen of
Valkrista Swedish Vallhunds. Rose helped to found our kennel
with her wonderful home bred girl, NZ Champion & Multi Group
Winner Valkrista Alatna. Ash recently created a part of breed history in NZ with
her Class In Group Win at National Show Level. When I was finally able
to phone Rose the smile in her
voice that day said it all.
Rose you will
be greatly missed and it is with sadness that we here at Vanaheim
say farewell, safe journey, and God Speed.

31 July & 1st August 2010 - I attended the Royal Canin Pet Expo held in
Hamilton on behalf of the Swedish Vallhund Club of NZ. We had a
terrific team of volunteers made up from committee and Club
members. It was an exciting time introducing the public to Swedish
Vallhunds as well as the Official Swedish Vallhund Club of New
Zealand.

Meet our the latest addition to our family our stunning girl Vanaheim
Strawberry Fields (Flare). She is very gentle like her mum and

1 & 2 August 2009 - Vanaheim attended the Dunkleys Pet Expo held in Christchurch at Addington
Raceway in late 2009. We had a wonderful time introducing
the public to Swedish Vallhunds and Kindle and Onyx lapped up
the attention over the two days !!


Meet Vanaheim A Little Bit of Onyx (Onyx) our lovely homebred boy from our first litter. Onyx was shown as a youngster
before heading off to live with his new family in Christchurch, we look
forward to hearing more of his adventures.

Vallarity Day Tripper (Sparky) into our lives. Sparky is our up and
coming new stud boy here at Vanaheim, from limited outings early on he did
very well in the show ring at All Breeds Shows. Sparky is quality boy
full of Vim and Vigor although he much prefers home life, long walk's and
playing with his huge tennis ball !!
